This qualification has been developed to raise awareness of safety issues in food premises and to provide employees with an appreciation of safety and how to reduce risk or eliminate hazards.

The training programme focuses on the information that employees need to know before they start work in a food premises environment or as part of induction.

Food premises business operators must ensure that employees are supervised, instructed and trained in food hygiene matters in order to guarantee safety to consumers.
