IPAF Training
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide in the widest sense – through providing technical advice and information; through influencing and interpreting legislation and standards; and through safety initiatives and training programmes.
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training programme is globally recognised, developed by leading industry professionals and available in multiple languages across a worldwide network.
The comprehensive range of classroom and eLearning courses covers mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) including boom, scissor, 1b, 3a and 3b categories of machines. Courses are aimed at operators, service technicians, delivery drivers, managers/supervisors, demonstrators, installers and instructors.
IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training programs are designed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). IPAF offers several specific training categories, including IPAF 3a, 3b, and 1b, each tailored to different types of MEWPs and their operation.

IPAF is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, which include manufacturers, rental companies, distributors, contractors and users. IPAF members operate a majority of the MEWP rental fleet worldwide and manufacture about 85% of platforms on the market.
IPAF’s ePAL app is your new digital wallet to store and share your IPAF-powered access licences and qualifications, including the PAL Card for MEWP operators. Easily record your operating experience on MEWPs through the digital logbook, giving you an overview of the time spent operating. Have the latest powered access safety and best practice tips and advice in your pocket, and get access to your operator safety guide or site safety guide based on your linked licences.
