Course content

By the end of the course, the delegate will:

  • Be aware of current legislation, standards and guidance
  • Be aware of the different MEWP classifications
  • Plan for ongoing operator development through appropriate training
  • Understand the importance of selecting the correct machine and equipment for the operator
  • Have a better knowledge and awareness of the safe use and operation of MEWPs
  • Identify misuse and abuse of MEWPs
  • Be aware of planning and maintenance considerations

Who should attend

Supervisors and managers responsible for selecting, using and managing MEWPs under their control, in any industry.

No experience needed: you don't need to be a MEWP operator to attend.

Classroom option: we can also deliver the course in a classroom for groups, at our Knowsley centre or your site. Call us to arrange it.

Qualification & funding

IPAF is the not-for-profit federation that promotes the safe use of powered access worldwide. Successful delegates receive the IPAF MEWPs for Managers qualification on their PAL card. It is also a requirement of the IPAF instructor pathway.

This course is approved for CITB Levy Funding. We are a CITB Approved Training Organisation and will process your levy payment if you are a registered company.

How does the eLearning work?

Once booked, you get access to the IPAF MEWPs for Managers eLearning. Start any time and complete it at your own pace. It costs £150 + VAT per person.

No. The course is for the people who plan and manage MEWP work.
