Course content

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the industry, its dangers and their responsibilities
  • Use the manufacturer's handbook for the ladder being used
  • Locate and identify the major components of the ladder and explain their functions
  • Carry out all safety checks to manufacturer's and legislative requirements
  • Select the right type of ladder for the work being done
  • Identify and maintain PPE suitable for ladder use
  • Erect, dismantle and relocate a ladder safely and efficiently
  • Carry out end of work inspections
  • Understand environmental considerations
  • Store ladders correctly
