Course content

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the industry, its dangers and their responsibilities
  • Use the manufacturer's handbook for the harness and fall arrest equipment being used
  • Locate and identify the major components of the harness and fall arrest equipment and explain their functions
  • Carry out all safety checks to manufacturer's and legislative requirements
  • Select the right type of harness and fall arrest equipment for the work being done
  • Identify and maintain suitable PPE and demonstrate correct use
  • Fit and remove a safety harness correctly
  • Carry out end of work inspections
  • Understand environmental considerations
  • Store harness and fall arrest equipment correctly
