Course Introduction
Understanding mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. The Highfield Level 1 Award in an Introduction to Mental Health and Wellbeing (RQF) aims to assist learners in their personal growth and to provide them with an understanding of their own mental health and manage it effectively.
It is ideal for learners preparing to enter employment or already in employment and who wish to develop their knowledge of mental health, either to progress onto a qualification in another subject or simply for personal growth and understanding.

- Know what is meant by mental health and mental ill health
- Know how to take care of your own mental health and wellbeing
- Know how to provide support to family and friends for their mental health and well-being
- Know sources of support for mental health and wellbeing
Course Information
- It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the trainee operator will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Know what is meant by mental health and mental ill health
- Know how to take care of your own mental health and wellbeing
- Know how to provide support to family and friends for their mental health and well-being
- Know sources of support for mental health and wellbeing
This qualification aims to help learners understand the basics of mental health, support their personal growth, and learn how to manage their own mental health effectively. It is suitable for individuals entering or already in employment and focuses on providing foundational knowledge about mental health, mental ill health, and wellbeing.
Delegate Requirements – Delegates should be physically fit, in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. Delegates will be required to climb to height during the course.
Novice – This course is designed for the complete Novice delegate but it is equally suitable for delegates with industry experiance and thoes looking to renew thier PASMA Card.
