NPORS S001 - Construction Safety Awareness
Course Introduction
This course is recognised by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) as a Level 1 qualification in Health and safety in a construction environment. Delegates who successfully complete this course, combined with passing the CSCS Health and Safety Environment Touch Screen test can apply for a CSCS card.
Course Information
- It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the trainee operator will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 - Sections 2, 3, 7, 8 & 9
- Construction (Design & Management) Regulations
- Management of Health & Safety At Work Regulations
- COSHH & Hazardous Substances In Construction
- Accident Prevention
- Reporting of Injuries, Diseases & Dangerous Occurrences Regulations
- Electricity On Construction Sites
- Personal Protective Equipment - Including Regulations
- Manual & Mechanical Handling
- Excavations & Confined Spaces
- Working at Height
- Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS)
- Fire Prevention
- Health & Safety (Signs and Signals) Regulations
- Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations
- First Aid at Work Including Regulations
This qualification has been developed for those already working, or preparing to work, in the industry who will be working on a construction site as part of their working duties.
Delegate Requirements – Delegates should be physically fit, in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. It is, however, desirable (but not mandatory) that applicants should be literate and have had driving experience as an indication of dexterity
Novice – This course is designed for the complete Novice delegate but will also be equally suited to those who need to refresh their knowledge.
