IPAF Demonstrator Training
Course Introduction
The IPAF Demonstrator Course is designed to train individuals to be effective Demonstrators. Their duties include educating IPAF operators on their responsibilities, demonstrating proper procedures for pre-operation and safe operation, and explaining the limitations of MEWPs.

Course Information
- It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the trainee will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Mewp Categories
- PPE & Harness Statement
- Operator revision
- Responsibilities for Familiarisation
- Effective Demonstration
- Practical Demonstration
This qualification has been developed for those already working, or preparing to work, in the industry and who will be using a Telehandler as part of their working duties.
Delegate Requirements – Delegates should be physically fit, in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. It is, however, desirable (but not mandatory) that applicants should be literate and have had driving experience as an indication of dexterity
Novice – This course is designed for the complete Novice delegate however it will also be suitable for those with experience as well as those seeking to renew their PAL card
IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training programs are designed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). IPAF offers several specific training categories, including IPAF 3a, 3b, and 1b, each tailored to different types of MEWPs and their operation.
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide in the widest sense – through providing technical advice and information; through influencing and interpreting legislation and standards; and through safety initiatives and training programmes.
IPAF is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, which include manufacturers, rental companies, distributors, contractors and users. IPAF members operate a majority of the MEWP rental fleet worldwide and manufacture about 85% of platforms on the market.
